COP26 and the fight to tackle global emissions

The 2015 Paris agreement aimed to mitigate the impacts of climate change by keeping global increases in temperature below 1.5C above pre-industrial levels. Yet the world is already at 1.2C of warming with very few countries bringing in climate policies that will limit the rises. The UN’s COP26 climate conference, currently taking place in Glasgow, aims to find a route to net-zero emissions and more stringent targets that could help to limit the climate crisis.
