Future of WorkJul, 2020
Organisations are thinking twice before committing to a long-term office lease in the current climate as employees emerge from lockdown. Is it the new era for flex space? Our Future of Work special report, published in The Times, explores how organisations are pivoting to different office models and how re-establishing domestic supply chains could affect the structure of the UK economy. It examines why normalising flexibility and remote working has opened up more opportunities for disabled workers that were previously excluded from the workforce. It looks at how recent heightened awareness of racial inequality has affected the support and backing of Black-owned businesses in the UK. It also features an infographic on what actions companies need to take to make workplaces safe post-COVID
As many of us gradually begin to trickle back into our offices, organisations are having to consider what actions to take to make our workplaces safe. Bridge actions such as increased cleaning protocols, an abundance of hand sanitiser, the abolition of hot desking and social distancing signage are good first steps, but there is a bigger opportunity here too: to reinvent the office of the future.
